A Soldier's Therapeutic Reflections 3RD EDITION

In this poignant collection, a veteran shares deep reflections on their service, weaving narratives of chaos and courage with the quiet battles they face upon returning to civilian life. Each prose piece offers a window into the soldier’s soul: the frontline horrors, the private wars waged after service, the rugged path to reintegration, and the ongoing quest for peace. As the author transitions from soldier to civilian, they chronicle the metamorphosis from youthful innocence to seasoned warrior, revealing an intimate journey of resilience and recovery. It’s a tribute not just to those who wore the uniform, but to the enduring spirits shaped by its legacy.

Excerpts

I think back to the time that we were loaded on the plane preparing to go to Vietnam and after about a day and a half, they only took a third of soldiers in my company.

I was one of the soldiers that they told to get off the plane, and I had to watch my friends leave in route to Vietnam. At the time I felt relieved, but when my fellow soldiers came back and I noticed their behavior was totally different and how they appeared to have a hard time readjusting after their return from combat.

I began drinking to cope with the nightmares and flashes of the past traumatic situation I experienced.
